Gas turbine blades

Wow! Enter O.B.T (The One Bad Turbine), who has so much to teach us about gas turbine blades! Gas turbines blades are {one of the coolest and} most strategic equipment for producing electricity which drives our households and schools. They move really fast and whip around in circles — kind of like a fan or a pinwheel spinning when the wind's blowing. Join us as we delve into the intricacies of these stunning knives. Gas turbine blades are a specialized part of the gas turbine engine. Gas Turbine is a Generator that uses gas (either natural gas or diesel) to burn with unlimited air, and turn it on electricity. The turbine blade designs turbine is the other part that makes the blades spin, and spinning generates energy. Gas turbines are used in all sorts of different things such as power plants forcing our cities to have electricity and also planes that take us off the ground fairly high up. We couldn't produce electricity as well without such blades!

The Design and Manufacturing Process of Gas Turbine Blades

Gas turbine blades are fiddly to make and require a high level of craftsmanship. Especially since these blades need to be crafted in such a way that they will not shatter at incredible speeds. Blades are also designed so that if they're not the correct size or shape, the turbine won't function properly. First, engineers design the blades using special computers and then people make a model of them called a prototype. This throwaway prototype is iterated on until turbine blade jet engine works exactly the way you intended. Next, the completed design is sent off to the factory for production of the physical blades. Then, in the factory, they are manufactured with the aid of a special machine called a 3D printer using metal powder. A 3D printer uses heat to melt the powder together and construct the blade, a layer at a time, much like stacking blocks. After the blades are printed, they must be cleaned (to remove any remaining powder). The blades are then sharpened after they are cleaned as this will make them more efficient and fit to put inside the turbine.
